Call Server processes all calls and generates CDR etc. All configuration of the system is done on the call server
as it contains the customer database. However the voice path for IP calls does not actually connect to the call
server and ideally it takes the shortest path possible between endpoints.
The Signalling server provides the various signal paths for call setup as well as some other applications.
TPS Provides a path for UNISTIM messages from the IP sets to the call server. It also tracks the
IP Set VTN against its current IP address.
Element Mgr Provides a GUI to manage the callserver. Most commands can be executed through the
Element manager interface and the Sig server creates the pages by interrogating the
callserver.
H323/SIP G/W Is the signalling gateway for Virtual Trunk calls between systems. It takes requests from the
callserver across the ELAN, encodes them in either one of the two standard protocols and
then transmits them to the destination endpoint.
NRS Is the resolver of DN to IP addresses for H323/SIP & UNISTIM
Personal Dir A directory of up to 100 names specific to any IP set User.
The Media Gateway contains the card space for Analogue and Digital set cards and also provides for the
conversion from IP (Packet Voice) to TDM (Traditional Time Division Multiplexing Voice). In this way IP sets can
work in with both environments.
